The Burning Bridges AI Trend Explained
What the Burning Bridges AI trend is, which part of Drake's music video it copies, when it took off, and the ways people put themselves, pets and friends into the party scene.
The Burning Bridges AI trend is a video format where people use AI to put themselves, a friend or a pet into the party scene from Drake's Burning Bridges music video. The clip copies the same chandelier-lit room, the same moves and the same handheld camera, with a new face in the lead. It took off on TikTok and Instagram Reels in late September 2026.
Where does the Burning Bridges AI trend come from?
It comes from the party scene in the music video for Drake's song Burning Bridges, released on May 15, 2026. The party section runs from about 2:37 to 3:06 in the official video, close to 29 seconds.
In that section the lead walks into a crowded room under crystal chandeliers, holds a silver shaker, plays to the camera, points at friends, and the crowd leans in and raises their cups. The scene is short, loud and easy to recognize, which makes it a good template.
What happens in the clip, second by second?
The 15-second version that most people post follows this order:
| Time | What happens |
|---|---|
| 0 to 2 s | Walk-in with an arm out, cup in hand |
| 2 to 3.5 s | Close-up at the camera, mouthing the lyric |
| 4 to 5.5 s | Lifts the silver cup toward the camera |
| 6 to 8.5 s | Points and bounces to the beat |
| 9 to 10 s | Hand to the chest, chin up |
| 10.5 to 12 s | Turns and points at friends |
| 12 to 15 s | The crowd leans in with cups raised |
An AI version keeps this timing and camera path and swaps the person. That is why viewers recognize it within the first second.
Why did it go viral?
Three reasons stand out:
- Instant recognition. The room, the shaker and the camera moves are the same in every version, so the swap is the joke.
- Low effort for the creator. One photo is enough. There is no dance to learn and no set to build.
- Room to be creative. The format works with anyone in the lead, so people keep finding new versions.
How are people doing the trend?
The most common versions:
- Yourself in the lead. A selfie or half-body photo, posted with the Burning Bridges sound.
- A friend who agreed. Usually as a birthday or group-chat joke.
- Pets. Dogs and cats in the lead role.
- Character looks. An original character in a recognizable style, such as a 1920s gang look with flat caps and three-piece suits, or a chemistry teacher look with a pork-pie hat and glasses.
- Friends in the crowd. The lead plus up to five friends replacing people in the background.
- A different room. The same moves in a restyled room, for example a 1920s pub or a lab-style party.
On Burning Bridges AI, options 1 to 3 need one photo. Options 5 and 6 are under More options in the generator and are in beta.
